A beautiful renaissance-like piece with deep and warm red tones created by the salt lakes in Portugal. First in line of the Healing series, the work depicts the Root which is represented by 4 lines arranged in a cubic shape and has a red color.

About the Muladhara project:

For many living things, the root is where it all starts. A stable base of support to nurture and balance the structures above. Strong roots are what keep a tree standing, just like the root rhythm that keeps a jazz band attuned and aligned. In order to feel safe, one must grow up in a safe and stable environment. One that feels loving, compassionate and non-threathening to our well-being. Many of us who didn't feel safe as a child are left to wonder: what does it feel like to feel safe? To feel truly safe in your body, heart and mind? To feel safe around others, or in a close relationship?

Some are pushed to repeat and project the same situations they endured onto others to feel more safe, others lash out to themselves and break down inside. But we can break the cycle. We can find communities that support and nurture the parts that didn't feel safe. Float back and forth through painful memories and feelings that often keep us trapped in the same cycle of survival. Together we can embark on a quest for security, harmony, identity and compassion. Together we can make this world a safe place for every child.
